Christian Education Hour at ASPC

Throughout the month of May the pastoral staff at ASPC is teaching a series of classes during the Christian education hour that may spark your interest. For most of us, catechism, or dedicated Christian study, is a lost art. Reformed Protestants typically offer Confirmation classes to young people who are exploring matters of faith and are interested in "confirming", or laying claim to the baptism they received as an infant. For the rest of us, formal Christian education is something we do sporadically and many of us struggle with the basics of the Christian faith. Who is God? What is prayer? What is the Bible?

Please join us before Worship on Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 in the
social hall if you are interested in participating in this
introductory, 5-week class. The questions being engaged in this class
are complex, so grappling with these subjects in any depth will be a
challenge. No expertise is necessary. Just bring your thoughts and
ideas and questions and let us begin a good conversation around the
basic tenets of the Christian faith.

May 2: What is the Bible? (Bill Golderer)
May 9: Who is Jesus? (Bill Golderer)
May 16: What is the church? (Carmen Goetschius)
May 23: What are the sacraments? (Becky White Newgren)
May 30: What is prayer? (TBA)
